Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires ability to read, write and follow simple oral instructions as might be acquired through up to 8 years of formal schooling.
• Six months of job-related experience is required.
• All UH positions are security sensitive and require a criminal history check.

Responsibilities

• Sweeps, mops and scrubs floors, stairs and other surfaces inside and outside buildings.
• Vacuuming carpet; scrubs, strips, refinishes, waxes, and buffs floors as needed.
• Empties wastebaskets and replaces liners; carts trash to collection area.
• Wipes, dusts and polishes furniture, fixtures, glass doors and windows.
• Wipes and scrubs sinks, toilets and tiles; replenishes supplies.
• Maintains janitorial closet stock; may assist in ordering supplies.
• Provides hands-on training to new employees.
• Notifies Area Lead or Supervisors about safety issues or maintenance needs.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
