Job summary

City of Sacramento is seeking a Custodian II to maintain clean, safe, and welcoming community center facilities. Responsibilities include custodial duties, room setups for meetings and events, and assisting with public use of facilities and hours.

The role involves coordinating with programming and customer service teams, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working flexible shifts including weekends and evenings. A year of custodial experience is expected.

Qualifications

• One year of experience performing routine building custodial and maintenance work.
• Proof of education may be required at time of appointment; education credentials should be submitted with your application.

Responsibilities

• Set-up, assemble, move, and take down chairs, tables, and other furniture for meetings, banquets, and events.
• Rearrrange tables, chairs, and other furniture for various periods of the day.
• Refer clients to appropriate personnel for furniture arrangements or problems.
• Assemble bulletin boards, chalkboards, game tables; hang or place as appropriate.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub, wax floors; clean restrooms; empty waste receptacles; dust and polish; wash windows.
• Perform minor routine maintenance tasks and repairs on equipment and facilities.
• Operate a variety of hand and cleaning tools and equipment.
• Sweep and wash outside walkways and entrances; lock/unlock doors.
• Monitor inventory and assist with ordering supplies; report hazards.
