Job summary

The City of Greer is accepting applications for a Custodian I in the Facilities Maintenance Department. Responsibilities include cleaning City buildings and jail, basic maintenance, and operating cleaning equipment. Adheres to safety protocols and maintains clean, sanitary work areas.

Hours are 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with additional hours as needed. Minimum $19.69 hourly with a comprehensive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with some experience in custodial or maintenance duties.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.

Responsibilities

• Cleans the interior of City buildings and Jail including vacuuming, bathrooms, trash, offices, mopping, windows, jail cells, doors and walls.
• Performs general building maintenance duties such as fixing lights, plumbing problems, and assisting with lifting boxes and other moving duties.
• Uses cleaning equipment and chemicals (buffer, vacuum, cleaners, disinfectants, etc.).
• Maintains floors: sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, buffing, waxing, and related tasks.
• Maintains cleanliness of walls, windows, furniture, and restrooms; restocks supplies as needed.
