Job summary

Qualifications

• Some knowledge of cleaning materials, methods, equipment, and procedures.
• Ability to learn operation and care of custodial equipment (vacuum cleaners, scrubbing machines, lawn mowers).
• Ability to exercise care in the use of cleaning materials and equipment.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Swee p, mop, wax, and polish floors; wash walls, woodwork, and blinds; dust surfaces.
• Pick up litter and grass/flowerbed maintenance; mow, edge, and snow shovel.
• Raise and lower flags; perform routine painting work.
• Clean restrooms and replenish supplies; polish brass; replace light bulbs.
• Move furniture; perform minor repairs; open/close buildings; load/unload supplies.
• Operates routine equipment and machinery; assist stocking and storage of janitorial supplies.
