Job summary

The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is seeking a full-time Building Service Worker for Campus Recreation to perform custodial work and support event setups in ARC, CRCE and Ice Arena facilities. Responsibilities include cleaning, floor care, window washing, restroom service, trash removal, and moving equipment for events.

The role requires ability to lift up to 50 lbs, operate heavy cleaning equipment, and work in varied temperatures; the starting wage is $20.30 per hour with Civil

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning solutions and custodial methods.
• Ability to comprehend and follow oral instructions.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions, directions, labeling, and measurements.
• Ability to exert muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to bend, stretch, twist, reach, and stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to perform general physical activities that require use of hands, arms, legs, and moving whole body.
• Ability to tolerate exposure to temperature extremes.
• Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial work for cleaning and upkeep of the building.
• Dust furnishings; wash windows and interior/exterior glass.
• Clean and service lavatories, restrooms, showers, and locker rooms.
• Empty trash and recycle materials.
• Move furniture and assist in loading/unloading of items for events.
