Job summary

The City of Fresno is hiring Custodians to maintain clean, safe, and welcoming spaces across City facilities. This hands-on role is ideal for dependable, detail-oriented individuals who take pride in their work and want to make a visible impact daily.

Duties include sweeping, mopping, restroom upkeep, trash removal, window cleaning, equipment operation, event setup, basic maintenance, and security checks. Multiple departments include Airports, Animal Center and Transportation.

Qualifications

• Education: Possession of a High School Diploma or equivalent GED completion.
• Experience: Six (6) months of paid experience performing janitorial or custodial work.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors.
• Clean restrooms and replenish supplies.
• Empty trash and pick up litter around buildings.
• Wash windows, walls, and blinds.
• Operate cleaning and floor care equipment.
• Move and arrange furniture for events.
• Perform minor maintenance and adjust thermostats.
• Lock/unlock doors and conduct security checks.
• Transport supplies and materials as needed.
• Perform related duties as required
