Job summary

PRIDE Industries is seeking a Custodian to perform general custodial duties including cleaning, dusting, sweeping, mopping and vacuuming under close supervision. This non-exempt position requires following established safety practices and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

Responsibilities include assisting with setup for meetings, events, and trainings, and following chemical handling guidelines. A valid driver license may be required by local contracts.

Qualifications

• Ability to utilize a wide array of custodial chemicals; general cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to safely operate custodial equipment (vacuum, backpack vacuum, cardboard bailer);
• Ability to communicate effectively;
• Ability to follow instructions;
• Computer literacy to use business software, the Internet, enter data/retrieve data;
• Human relations skills to build effective working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Clean, dust, and wipe furniture.
• Sweep, mop, or vacuum floors.
• Empty and clean wastebaskets, trash containers and cigarette urns.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedures. Refill restroom dispensers.
• Assist with the setup for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, etc.
• Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies. Use as directed.
• Wash accessible interior and exterior windows. Clean blinds.
• Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
