Job summary

McKinley Health Center seeks a full-time Building Service Worker to maintain a clean, sanitary, and orderly environment for patients. The role includes cleaning tasks across the Health Center and Illini Union Satellite Clinic.

You will work 5p-1a, Monday to Friday with rotating Saturday shifts, and earn $21.15 hourly in a Civil Service position at UIUC. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications and support safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of cleaning solutions and custodial methods. Ability to comprehend and follow instructions, directions, labeling and measurements.
• Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Clean carpeted floors, vacuum, extract and bonnet.
• Clean resilient floors.
• Clean and dust windows, blinds, furniture, equipment and other surfaces.
• Collect and dispose waste paper.
• Collect contaminated waste.
• Clean and service toilets and showers.
• Lock and unlock doors into and within the facility.
• Wash interior and exterior glass and windows.
• Spot clean walls, woodwork and carpet.
• Wash glazed tile walls.
• Change light bulbs.
• Remove snow and ice from entrances.
• Move furniture and incoming freight.
• Pick up dirty linen, remove to Central Supply.
• Participate in Quality Assurance activities as assigned.
• Responsible and accountable to support and ensure a culture of safety, quality and risk management including compliance and ethics.
• Assume appropriate related additional duties to further the mission of the unit.
