Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a Custodian to maintain a clean and safe facility in Kansas City, MO. Responsibilities include cleaning offices, restrooms, docks, yards, and parking areas, plus minor repairs and painting as needed. Must follow safety procedures and company policies. Starting pay is $18.19 per hour with eligibility for benefits.

Hours may vary; the role requires standing for long periods and light lifting. EOE; ADA assistance is available on request.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Good cleaning techniques and floor buffing skills are required.
• Must be professional in interaction with customers and coworkers.
• Good organizational skills required.
• Basic verbal and written communication skills required.
• Ability to bend, twist, squat and push/pull custodial equipment.
• Good chemical awareness is needed.
• Able to follow instructions and complete training.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member.

Responsibilities

• Vacuum, sweep, mop and dust entire office area.
• Empty trash.
• Clean restrooms.
• Perform general yard work (lawn care, picking up trash, garden maintenance).
• Maintain parking areas free of trash.
• Clean dock and dock apron.
• Perform minor building repair and painting as needed.
• Change light bulbs in offices and dock areas.
• Change air conditioner filters.
• Comply with laws/regulations and company policies/procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.
