Job summary

New Hanover County is seeking a dedicated Custodian to join the Facilities Management Department in Wilmington, NC. You will help maintain a welcoming and clean environment for employees and visitors, performing cleaning, sanitizing and restocking duties across a variety of spaces.

The role requires basic education and a valid NC driver's license, with shifts that may include weekends, holidays, and emergencies. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a structured salary range.

Qualifications

• Education through the 8th grade and one year of progressively responsible work experience.
• Valid North Carolina Driver's License and good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Clean floors, stairwells, entryways, hallways, offices and break rooms.
• Sanitize, disinfect and restock restrooms.
• Remove and dispose of trash.
• Monitor and report equipment breakdowns and maintenance needs of the facility.
