Job summary

Milan Institute in San Antonio seeks a reliable Custodian to maintain clean and hygienic facilities, ensuring a welcoming environment for students and staff. As a Janitor, you will perform a range of cleaning tasks, follow schedules, and help uphold our safety and quality standards.

Your role includes sweeping, mopping, restroom sanitation, waste disposal, window cleaning, and restocking supplies while working independently and with the team to keep common areas presentable and compliant with

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Proven experience in janitorial or custodial services is an asset.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards.
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions effectively.
• Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
• Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks and complete them in a timely manner.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members.
• Understanding of health and safety practices in a cleaning environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming floors and surfaces.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and fixtures, ensuring they are well-stocked with necessary supplies.
• Empty and dispose of trash and recycling bins, following proper waste management procedures.
• Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces to maintain a polished appearance.
• Maintain and replenish cleaning supplies, notifying the supervisor of any low stock or equipment issues.
• Assist in setting up meeting rooms and event spaces as needed.
• Ensure common areas, such as hallways and reception areas, are always clean and presentable.
• Monitor and report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
• Follow cleaning schedules and checklists to ensure all areas are thoroughly cleaned and maintained.
