Job summary

Harford County is seeking a custodial/janitorial associate to maintain the cleanliness and safety of county facilities and grounds. The role includes routine cleaning, minor maintenance support, and ensuring compliance with sanitation standards.

The position requires one year of experience, a high school diploma, and a valid driver’s license. On-call responsibilities and a comprehensive benefits package are included.

Qualifications

• One (1) year of experience performing commercial custodial or janitorial work.
• Knowledge of standard custodial methods, practices, materials, and equipment.
• Must comply with safety regulations (OSHA/MOSH) and county policies.

Responsibilities

• Clean, sanitize, and maintain building interiors and exteriors, including floors, walls, and restrooms, ensuring a safe environment.
• Perform routine custodial tasks such as sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and waste disposal.
• Restock supplies and assist with moving furniture and setup for events.
• Identify maintenance issues and report to supervisor for prompt resolution.
• Provide courteous, professional service to employees and visitors.
• Follow safety procedures and correctly use cleaning chemicals and PPE.
