Job summary

Concern Housing is seeking a Facilities Custodian for routine building cleaning and renovation of apartments under supervision. The role runs Sunday through Thursday, 8am–4pm, in New York, NY. You will clean offices and common areas, stock supplies, handle snow removal, and perform light maintenance.

A high school diploma and a valid driver’s license are preferred, with a $40,000/year salary listed. The position emphasizes teamwork, communication, and customer service as you work with building

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• 6+ months related cleaning experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and prioritize multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Clean offices, hallways, stairs, lobby, lounge, exercise room, conference room and all other common areas.
• Dust office furniture, windowsills, countertops, etc.
• Empty wastebaskets in offices, bathrooms, lounge, exercise room, conference room, and other common areas.
• Clean bathroom fixtures, counters, mirrors and mop floors.
• Ensure adequate supplies in bathrooms.
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming.
• Maintain stock of custodial supplies and reorder as needed.
• Follow procedures for chemical cleaners use.
• Notify managers about major repairs needed.
• Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas; spread snow melter chemicals.
• Maintain exterior cleanliness; remove debris, sweep patios and walkways.
• Set up and remove decorations for events.
• Spray insecticides/fumigants as allowed by law with protection.
• Dust, clean and maintain exercise equipment.
• Minor maintenance like changing bulbs or filters.
• Clean individual apartments: kitchens, bathrooms, floors, blinds, trash.
