Job summary

The City of Dickinson Public Works Department is seeking a Building Service Worker to keep facilities clean, safe, and operational. You will support behind-the-scenes city operations and contribute to a daily community impact.

Pay ranges from $20.03 to $22.12 per hour (DOE) with a Monday–Friday schedule. The position offers a competitive benefits package including health insurance, retirement, paid leave, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Up to one year of janitorial/maintenance experience or equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of Public Works buildings, shops, and facilities.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, buff floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets.
• Empty trash, recycling, and shop waste containers.
• Clean windows, blinds, walls, and equipment surfaces.
• Restock restroom and facility supplies.
• Assist with setup for trainings, meetings, and department events.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs.
• Remove snow and debris from entrances, sidewalks, and facility access points.
• Lock/unlock facilities and help ensure building security.
• Support safe, clean working conditions for Public Works operations.
• Respond to facility-related needs and emergencies as required.
