Job summary

The City of Lake Worth Beach invites qualified individuals to apply for the position of Custodian. This non-exempt, full-time role is based on a 40-hour work week with a pay rate of $16.9183 per hour, under the Public Employees Union agreement.

The position reports to the Building Facility Manager and entails custodial cleaning across City Buildings, in a fast-paced environment. Benefits include leave accruals, holidays, medical, retirement, and more.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in commercial janitorial work preferred.
• Able to read and understand simple instructions, brief notes, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to present information clearly to customers, clients and staff.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Florida drivers license.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain floors, furniture, restrooms, and fixtures.
• Wash windows and woodwork; replace light bulbs and assist in minor repairs.
• Empty trash and maintain waste containers.
• Clean surrounding grounds and assist moving heavy items and furniture.
• Assist in relocating offices and rearranging equipment as needed.
• Maintain stock levels and assist in ordering supplies.
