Job summary

Chicanos Por La Causa, Inc. (CPLC) is hiring a Facilities Custodian to keep our Head Start facilities safe, clean, and well-maintained, supporting compliance with health and safety standards.

You will coordinate with the Center Manager and Facilities Coordinator, ensuring inspections and repairs are performed on schedule and supplies are managed efficiently. CPLC's Early Childhood Development (ECD) programs are committed to giving every child, regardless of circumstances at birth, an opportunity to succeed in school and life. Provides full-day, full-year early childhood development services to low income children, ages 0-3 years, and their families in educationally-stimulating learning environments.

Objective And Position Summary

The Facilities Custodian is responsible for ensuring that the center facilities, materials, equipment, and environments are safe, clean and appropriately maintained. Ensure the required inspections, maintenance and repairs are conducted in compliance. Works with CSM and the Transportation & Facilities Coordinator to ensure required inspections, maintenance, are conducted in compliance with Federal, State, and Local Law and the Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS). Promoting school readiness by preparing children and families for school and life success as it relates to this position. Actively supervise children by sight and sound at all times and in all environments. Maintain all health and safety regulations to create an optimum learning environment. Facilitate health practices to keep children safe, outdoor, and indoor environments.

Minimum Qualifications And Competencies

Education /Background:

• High School Diploma/GED is required and 6 months of custodial experience.
• Knowledge of maintenance, inventory and purchasing supplies.
• Education obtained outside of USA from another country must be evaluated from an accredited organization to determine equivalency to USA education status.

Other requirements:

• Applicant must be able to communicate effectively with children, parents, and all ECD staff.
