Job summary

SMSC Public Works is hiring a custodian for the evening shift in Prior Lake, MN. You will clean facilities to set standards, assist with room setups, and support special events on weekends. Health benefits, weekly pay, and on-site clinics are provided.

Starting pay is $18 per hour with additional compensation based on shift and experience. Excellent reliability and the ability to work independently are essential for success in this team environment.

Qualifications

• Reads/speaks English clearly.
• Valid Class D driver's license with good driving record.
• Ability to move, bend, squat, crawl, kneel, twist, push/pull.
• Capable of lifting up to 60 lbs.
• Willing to work weekends and events with little notice.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness in all areas per schedule and protocols.
• Follow health, safety, and OSHA guidelines; ensure chemicals/equipment are secured.
• Provide high-quality customer service while maintaining confidentiality.
• Report maintenance or equipment issues to supervision.
• Assist teammates as needed and cover special events.
• Perform turnover and cleaning for events like weddings/funerals.

• Monday - Friday 5:00pm-1:30am

Job Overview:

Cleans and maintains facilities ensuring that written cleaning service standards are met for set work schedule. Assists in, room setups and other duties as assigned. Occasional special events, weddings, funerals, Wacipi, etc.

• Maintain impeccable cleanliness in all areas, including surfaces, floors, restrooms, and common areas in accordance with established protocols and schedules.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and company policies. Follow OSHA policies and procedures. Know and understand MDSD information. Ensure all chemicals and equipment are kept out of reach of children, customer, team members, etc.
• Communicate effectively with customers, children, and employees, keeping high quality customer service and confidentiality as the primary consideration.
• Report any maintenance issues or cleaning equipment malfunctions to the Supervisor.
• Assist other team members when needed.
• Performs additional duties as needed, including providing cleaning services and turnover for special events such as weddings, funerals, etc. Must be available to work weekends and events that may arise with little notice.

Job Requirements:

• Ability to read and speak English clearly.
• Valid Class D driver’s license is required with a good driving record.
• Proficiency in maintaining safety while handling potential fumes, chemicals, odors, and/or noise.
• Ability to move in a variety of motions including bending, squatting, crawling, kneeling, twisting, pulling, and/ or pushing.
• Capacity to handle and lift up to 60 lbs. as needed.
• Has the physical abilities to perform the required job duties with or without accommodations, including on feet 100% of time.
