Job summary

Durango 4C Council (Tri-County Head Start) is hiring a Facilities & Custodial Technician in Durango, CO. The role maintains learning environments, performs custodial duties, minor repairs, and grounds upkeep to ensure safe, welcoming spaces for children and staff.

The position is full-time, 35 hours/week, with a $21.00-$28.00 per hour pay range and a $1500 hiring bonus. Reports to the Center Director and requires a valid Colorado driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid Colorado Driver’s License with clean record.
• Ability to pass background checks.
• Ability to read safety instructions, SDS, and manuals.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Professional communication with staff, families, vendors.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean, safe indoor spaces across classrooms and common areas.
• Perform custodial services, sanitation, and restocking.
• General building maintenance and minor repairs.
• Maintain grounds, playgrounds, and outdoor spaces.
• Support snow/ice removal for safe access.
• Safety checks, inspections, and documentation.
• Submit and track work orders; coordinate with vendors.
• Attend weekly Facility Meeting and assist with scheduling.
