Job summary

Johnson County Government's Facilities Management department seeks a Custodial Supervisor to lead daily cleaning operations across multiple county facilities, scheduling tasks, inspecting areas, coaching staff, and ensuring safety procedures are followed.

The role requires at least an associate’s degree or equivalent, three years of related experience with leadership, the ability to manage supplies, equipment, and contracts, and a commitment to reliable, high‑quality service for the community.

Qualifications

• Requires associate’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
• Three (3) years of related experience; one (1) year of leadership or supervisor experience are required.
• Must pass a criminal history screening and have a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Experience may be substituted for degree. Education may be substituted for experience.

Responsibilities

• Determines daily and project schedules per work order priority; assigns tasks; inspects facilities; trains and mentors staff; oversees key control and safety procedures.
• Researches and recommends equipment/vendors; verifies inventory; authorizes purchases; monitors contract compliance.
• Implements process improvements; monitors cleaning program; compiles performance data.
• Oversees cleaning/restocking; ensures recycling; manages floor maintenance programs.
• Completes forms, timesheets, and logs in computerized systems; follows P-card guidelines.
