Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice seeks a Facilities Services Manager to lead custodial operations and allocation of resources across facilities. You will supervise staff, manage contracts, and ensure safety and compliance with agency standards.

Responsibilities include inspections, schedule management, equipment and supply control, and coordination of inmate labor where applicable. A high school diploma with custodial maintenance experience is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and custodial/maintenance experience relevant to the job area.
• Knowledge of custodial, groundskeeping or maintenance standards and safety practices.
• Ability to plan, direct and review subordinates' work and manage budgets.
• Experience with records, procurement, and personnel management in government.

Responsibilities

• Oversees custodial services contracts and reviews related invoices.
• Performs routine facility inspections to ensure contract standards.
• Directs custodial staff schedules, logs, and safety documentation.
• Manages supplies, equipment, waste, and asset operations for facilities.
• Ensures inventory control and secure handling of tools and chemicals.
• Coordinates supply transitions and supervises inmate labor where applicable.
