The Opportunity:

Perkins Eastman has an exciting opportunity in our headquarters office here in New York. We are looking for a part time facilities specialist to assist in our mailroom and day to day operations related tasks. You will be responsible for ensuring a safe and functional work environment, planning, and coordinating office logistics. You should have relevant experience, qualifications, and collaborations skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Handling all incoming and outgoing mail and packages, including sorting, delivering, wrapping, sealing, weighing, affixing postage, and dispatching them in a timely and efficient manner
  • Perform office related tasked with setting up conference rooms and office related events
  • Managing the overnight delivery services, such as Federal Express and UPS, and ensuring that the client and vendor deadlines are met.
  • Operating and maintaining the mailroom equipment, such as the postage meter
  • Recording and tracking all certified mail
  • Collaborating with the facilities team members and assisting with some of their work assignments
  • Assisting with catering deliveries and ensuring the food quality and safety.
  • Monitor and manage the facilities Outlook calendar to ensure accurate scheduling of upcoming events and functions
  • Ensure the conference rooms are clean and prepared each morning, including filling the water pitcher with ice, and maintain readiness to check and replenish water throughout the day
  • Assist with supply orders and ensure timely restocking of inventory to maintain adequate levels of necessary materials.
  • Ensure daily distribution of snacks to designated areas, maintaining a consistent and appealing presentation.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in related field
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • The ability to work independently and unsupervised.
  • The ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
  • The ability to work overtime as needed.
  • The ability to be well organized and detail oriented.
  • The ability to communicate effectively and professionally with the staff, vendors, and clients.

PE has a hybrid policy that allows flexibility for our employees in managing their working days and hours to cater to their diverse needs.

Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break.

Compensation: Hourly rate of $26.00 to $30.00 per hour, based on experience. This is a temporary, part-time role and is not eligible for benefits.
