We are an integrated firm with a professional roster that includes architects, interior designers, planners, urban designers, landscape architects, graphic designers, construction specification writers, construction economists, environmental analysts, resiliency experts, traffic and transportation engineers, and other disciplines.

The Opportunity
Perkins Eastman has an exciting opportunity at our headquarters in New York. We are seeking a part-time facilities specialist to assist with mailroom operations and daily tasks. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe, functional work environment, planning, and coordinating office logistics. Relevant experience, qualifications, and collaboration skills are required.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Handle all incoming and outgoing mail and packages, including sorting, delivering, wrapping, sealing, weighing, affixing postage, and dispatching in a timely manner.
  2. Set up conference rooms and assist with office-related events.
  3. Manage overnight delivery services such as FedEx and UPS, ensuring deadlines are met.
  4. Operate and maintain mailroom equipment, such as the postage meter.
  5. Record and track all certified mail.
  6. Collaborate with the facilities team and assist with their tasks.
  7. Assist with catering deliveries, ensuring food quality and safety.
  8. Monitor and manage the facilities Outlook calendar for scheduling.
  9. Ensure conference rooms are clean and prepared each morning, including filling water pitchers with ice and maintaining readiness throughout the day.
  10. Assist with supply orders and ensure timely restocking.
  11. Distribute snacks daily to designated areas, maintaining presentation standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a related field.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to work independently and unsupervised.
  • Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented.
  • Effective and professional communication skills with staff, vendors, and clients.

PE offers a hybrid policy allowing flexible work arrangements to meet diverse needs.

Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with a 1-hour unpaid lunch.

Compensation: $26.00 to $30.00 per hour, based on experience. This is a temporary, part-time role without benefits.
