Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation is seeking a Facilities Coordinator I based in Houston, TX, at the Administrative Services Office. You will join a facilities team supporting building operations, housekeeping, security, and groundskeeping across sites, with training provided.

The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, the ability to lead technical staff, and familiarity with work order systems and preventive maintenance programs.

Qualifications

• 6 years in building inspection, maintenance, utility systems, electrical, carpentry, painting.
• Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent.
• Related college education or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.

Responsibilities

• Leads technical, administrative, or clerical support employees.
• Assists in periodic inspections of buildings and grounds.
• Coordinates, inspects, and/or monitors building operations and service activities including housekeeping, security, inside painting, carpentry and/or groundskeeping at one or more sites.
• Enters work order information and tracks projects in the Automated Software System and orders materials and equipment.
• Monitors building maintenance, condition of equipment and service contracts.
• Performs evaluation and may assist in developing and implementing the preventive maintenance program.
• Provides estimates of time and materials needed for each assignment.
• Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
