The Facilities Coordinator provides key support to the Director of Buildings and Grounds and the Campus Security Coordinator. This individual works as part of a team responsible for the planning, management, care, and appearance of all campus buildings, grounds, vehicles, physical plant systems and other related work as well as physical plant budgets, recordkeeping, security, and materials storage. Physical plant systems include, but are not limited to, kitchen equipment, heating and air conditioning, communications, and furnishings. This individual also supports the campus security presence and must exercise discretion, judgment, and tact in screening and admitting visitors, which may include parents, family members, prospective families, vendors, service providers, and any other person wishing to enter the school. This is a "hands on" nonexempt position and will involve an irregular schedule including weekends and evenings.
The Facilities Coordinator is expected to have a general knowledge and working competence related to building systems, security, and facilities maintenance.In particular, the Facilities Coordinator is responsible for the following tasks:
Training and hands-on experience in maintenance, trades, and/or security fields is required. Minimum of two years of facilities and/or security experience within a school environment is preferred. Proficiency with basic technology (email, web searching, helpdesk ticketing systems) is necessary.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills are required, with a strong commitment to customer service. Proven ability to analyze situations, employ creative and effective decision-making to solve problems and achieve results is required. The ability to excel in a team environment that emphasizes total cooperation and mutual respect is critical. The successful candidate will be organized and have good time management skills. He/she must be willing to work some non-traditional hours, as necessary, to fulfill project requirements or resolve system failures.
