Job summary

Biodesix, Inc. is seeking a Facilities Coordinator to oversee the Colorado facility maintenance and support team productivity, ensuring safe, well-maintained laboratory spaces and general building upkeep.

The role includes documenting activities and coordinating with internal stakeholders. Responsibilities cover CAP/CLIA and ISO compliance, coordinating with external contractors, and ensuring timely inspections across Biodesix locations in Colorado and Kansas.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • General proficiency with hand tools and minor building repairs.
  • Ability to work with multiple internal and external stakeholders to secure timely decisions.
  • Ability to meet timelines while keeping the team updated.
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license.
  • Willingness to perform minor facilities repairs.
  • Basic mechanical understanding to communicate with service technicians.
  • Working knowledge of office equipment (printers, scanners, copiers).
  • At least 3 years providing facility support in a commercial setting.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure laboratory performs in compliance with CAP/CLIA, NYS CLEP, GLP/GMP, ISO 13485, FDA, and CE Mark standards.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and services personnel for maintenance and upgrades.
  • Inspect facilities regularly and proactively.
  • Act as a contact for building inspections and systems.
  • Maintain records for facility maintenance, purchases, and repairs.
  • Assist with vendor coordination (pest control, janitorial, etc.).
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders for facility soft and hard services.
  • Support ad hoc facility needs (room setup, catering).
  • Collaborate across Biodesix locations (Colorado and Kansas).
  • All other duties as assigned.

The role

The Facilities Coordinator will oversee the general maintenance of the Colorado facility spaces with a focus on enabling team member productivity. The Facilities Coordinator will have a passion for supporting others, possess an innate sense of urgency, and care deeply about fostering an inclusive facility environment where all team members can maximize productivity. This position will ensure that all Biodesix laboratory spaces and extended facilities are safe to work in and are well-maintained. Responsibilities include the upkeep of our general building, laboratory spaces and equipment, and documentation of those activities.

Appropriate designees may act as responsible delegates according to the established roles and responsibilities, including day to day responsibilities required for CAP

What you'll do
  • Ensure laboratory performs in compliance with, where applicable, CAP/CLIA, NYS CLEP, GLP/GMP, ISO 13485, FDA, and CE Mark standards.
  • Coordinates with external contractors and services personnel including those retained by the respective building owners, as required for the maintenance and occasional upgrade of the facilities
  • Ensure timely routinely and proactively inspecting the facilities as needed
  • Act as a secondary point of contact for building inspections, including backup generator, HVAC, fire suppression systems, backflow prevention, etc.
  • Maintain accurate records for facility maintenance, purchases, and repairs.
  • Assist with vendor coordination, including pest control, janitorial, and other facility services.
  • Communicate and coordinate with internal stakeholders, as needed, to support facility soft services (catering, office relocations, etc.) and hard services (plumbing, electrical, etc.).
  • Support the organization with ad hoc requests, including but not limited to room setup, catering setup, and other facility needs.
  • Collaborate across both Biodesix locations (Colorado and Kansas) to promote consistency and collaboration.

What you'll bring

  • Basic mechanical understanding of how equipment operates to effectively communicate with service technicians and repair personnel.
  • Working knowledge of office equipment (printers, scanners, copiers)
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • At least 3 years providing facility support and maintenance in a commercial setting
