Job summary

Coherent Corp. is seeking a facilities operations specialist in Sherman, Texas. The role focuses on maintaining temperature, humidity, and process conditions across plant systems, including boilers, chillers, and pumps.

You will operate control equipment, log critical data, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental requirements. This position requires a strong mechanical and electrical skill set, hands-on maintenance experience in a semiconductor environment, and the ability to work

Qualifications

• Associate degree in process technology or related field preferred.
• Five years of operations experience in a semiconductor/industrial environment.
• Experience operating boilers and plant control equipment (switchgear, breakers).
• Experience using SCADA, CMMS, TGMS and life-safety systems.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor ancillary systems to maintain temperature and humidity and other processes.
• Adjust equipment (burners/controls) for efficient operation.
• Maintain plant logs, environmental and safety reports, and downtime records.
• Participate in safety programs, ERT training, and training requirements.
• Perform inspection and preventive maintenance on boilers, chillers, pumps, and air handlers.
• Control equipment operation (start/stop, VFDs, pumps) and monitor water treatment.
• Communicate findings to supervision and technicians.
