Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in Palmdale, CA is seeking a Facilities Construction Project Manager (Level 2) or Principal Facilities Construction PM (Level 3) to oversee facilities projects and serve as liaison between leadership, program and customers.

The role emphasizes managing budgets, schedules, risk, and coordinating with architects/engineers while ensuring DoD security requirements are met. Strong procurement, cost estimation, and on-time delivery experience are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 5+ years PM/facilities management experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 2+ years.
• Knowledge of construction disciplines; able to present technical approaches clearly.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical systems and equipment assemblies.
• Prepares Scopes of Work for procurement of design and construction services.
• U.S. Government Secret Clearance required or ability to obtain and maintain PAR.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and manages facilities projects and serves as liaison between leadership, program and other customers.
• Act as primary contact for facilities between customers and maintenance for equipment and machinery project activities.
• Gather, review, and finalize requirements data concerning facility or equipment specifications, company or government restrictions, required completion date, and construction feasibility.
• Plan, design, and oversee the reconfiguration, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other facilities.
• Coordinate with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings.
• Prepare Scopes of Work and supporting documents for procurement of design and construction services.
• Review and estimate costs, including design, equipment, installation, labor, materials, construction, and other related costs.
• Inspect or direct inspection of construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to drawings, specs and schedules.
• Manage and execute multiple facilities projects simultaneously in a fast paced environment.
• Forecast and report on project status, including key metrics for Risk, Cost, and Schedule.
• Produce and implement risk mitigation and schedule recovery plans as required.
• Identify tasks requiring special inspection and coordinate with customer and contractors.
• Coordinate and update the Air Force as required for projects, budgets, and schedule.
