Job summary

General Atomics is seeking a Construction Project Manager for Facilities to join our Facilities Engineering, Design & Construction organization in San Diego, CA. This role leads capital projects, coordinating with architecture/engineering teams and procurement to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

Ideal candidates have nine+ years in project management, CCM or PMP preferred, and experience with SAP or Procore; travel across CONUS may be required.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor's in Business Administration or related discipline and nine or more years of progressively complex experience in the project administration field with at least three of those years in project management.
• Extensive understanding of project management processes, planning and scheduling, and budget management.
• CCM and/or PMP certification desired.
• Experience utilizing SAP or equivalent financial management software is desired.
• Experience with cloud-based construction management platforms (e.g., Procore) required.

Responsibilities

• Reviews, develops, and presents data concerning facility modifications by understanding the customer needs.
• Maintains project budgets and provides monthly spend forecasting and cost justifications.
• Collaborates with internal architectural, engineering, and pre-construction staff to determine scope, costs, and schedules.
• Coordinates with architecture/engineering firms to develop design criteria and construction drawings.
• Facilitates design reviews and value engineering exercises.
• Works with internal procurement from RFP through project closeout.
• Monitors project schedules, timelines, and milestones from initiation to completion.
• Manages meetings and uses software to track schedule and budget.
