Job summary

Werner Enterprises Inc. seeks a General Manager to oversee facilities maintenance and construction. The role directs construction and maintenance operations, including capital projects, vendor contracts, budgets, safety compliance, and preventative upkeep to ensure timely, high-quality work.

The position requires managing multiple projects, coordinating with architects and trades, and ensuring OSHA and building code compliance across all sites in the U.S. and Canada.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in facilities management or construction management.
• Strong knowledge of building systems and applicable codes.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Direct management of construction, facilities, and maintenance operations end-to-end.
• Oversee capital improvement and routine upkeep projects from development to inspection.
• Manage vendor contracts, budgets, safety compliance, and maintenance programs.
• Plan objectives, timelines, and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, HVAC, electricians, and other trades.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, ADA, and local building codes.
