Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. in Gresham, Oregon, is seeking an Engineer II–Facilities (Construction Design Engineer) to support the Fab 4 site. You will develop construction design packages for tool installation and base builds, defining utility connections and coordinating with external consultants.

You will manage the permitting process, coordinate bids, and ensure design approvals with internal Facilities teams. A strong CAD background and multi-disciplinary collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
• 2.5–5 years of engineering experience.
• CAD proficiency required (design work).
• Ability to read one-line diagrams, utility matrices and construction drawings.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify, create, and bid construction design packages for in-house tool install and base build teams.
• Develop process tool installation design packages and other facility/base build design packages.
• Determine utility points of connection and demand requirements with system owners.
• Create one-line diagrams and utility matrices capturing all requirements.
• Coordinate with external consultants for structural evaluation and design.
• Obtain design approval from in-house Equipment and Facilities personnel.
• Permit design packages through the City and manage permitting to approval.
• Solicit and coordinate contractor bids for design packages.
• Perform CAD work to produce and revise design drawings.
