Job summary

The North Texas Conference of The United Methodist Church is seeking an Operations Manager for the Dallas area. This part-time role (20 hours/week) oversees church facilities operations, building systems, and vendor contracts to ensure reliable, safe spaces for worship and community events.

The position includes long-range planning, budgeting input, and coordination with the Board of Trustees and Senior Pastor.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and provide troubleshooting for building systems including HVAC, plumbing, internet, and security systems.
• Review HVAC schedules daily and coordinate building usage for worship services, meetings, and events.
• Manage facility access and door schedules.
• Work with the Facility Manager to ensure maintenance and custodial needs are completed.
• Implement and review Safety and Security protocols including inspections.
• Assess condition of buildings, grounds, and major systems for future maintenance needs.
• Serve as primary liaison with outside vendors and contractors.
• Solicit bids and negotiate service agreements.
• Review and monitor leases and facility use agreements with community partners.
• Serve as primary contact for community partners and facility users, evaluating facility use requests and ensuring alignment with policies and mission.
• Coordinate facility logistics for outside groups and special events.
• Reports to: Board of Trustees, with oversight by the Senior Pastor.
