Job summary

Wye Valley NHS Trust is seeking a soft facilities cleaner to cover cleaning across the trust's sites. The role focuses on safe cleaning with approved materials and equipment, following COSHH rules and infection-control instructions, and includes travel between sites and contact with patients, staff and visitors.

Experience in cleaning or catering is essential, with strong communication and organisational skills.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning or catering experience is essential.
• Good communication skills.
• Basic literacy.
• Following instructions and organising own work to meet changing priorities and tight timescales.

Responsibilities

• Clean using approved materials and equipment in line with operator instructions.
• Use and store equipment safely in line with COSHH.
• Carry out cleaning safely, using hazard signs where appropriate.
• Carry out ad-hoc cleaning under supervision, following infection-control instructions.
• Initially deal with complaints and comments about the service courteously.
• Present a friendly, professional manner to patients, staff and visitors, and give product information when asked.
• Maintain communication with staff, suppliers, contractors, visitors and patient groups on cleaning matters.
• Work so that no other people are put at risk during cleaning.
