Job summary

South Glens Falls Central School District is seeking a full-time cleaner for the 2nd shift (2:30pm-11pm) to maintain District facilities in Saratoga County. The role involves routine cleaning of offices, clinics, halls, stairs, laboratories, and other spaces, with duties including window washing, waste disposal, and reporting maintenance needs.

Minimum qualifications are not strictly required, though some cleaning experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of building cleaning methods, procedures and equipment.
• Working knowledge of recycling procedures.
• Ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions.
• Willingness to perform routine cleaning and other manual tasks.
• Ability to get along well with others.
• Willingness to lift 40+ pounds to move supplies and equipment.
• Thoroughness, dependability, honesty, initiative, good physical condition.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and services offices, clinics, halls, stairs, laboratories and other similar units.
• Cleans and services lavatories with paper and soap.
• Cleans and polishes glass panels, doors, partitions, furniture, brass, etc.
• Sweeps, mops and waxes floors using brooms, sweepers, polishers.
• Dusts furniture and equipment with rags and polish.
• Washes windows, cleans window sills, walls woodwork, tubs, etc.
• Collects and disposes papers and garbage.
• Reports defective fixtures or mechanical equipment to supervisor.
• May perform a variety of building maintenance or repair tasks.
• May travel to multiple buildings when assigned.
• May deliver packages.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities and District Business Administrator
