Job summary

NCTD seeks a Facility Maintenance Custodian in Oceanside to perform cleaning, basic maintenance, and inspections across district facilities under SMART union terms. The role involves working with various cleaning tools, handling light maintenance, and supporting projects as needed.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED with one year of custodial experience preferred; duties include operating cleaning equipment, moving supplies, basic painting, and adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical school or apprenticeship a plus
• One year custodial experience preferred
• Combination of experience/skills and education may be considered

Responsibilities

• Performs cleaning activities to buildings, sites, equipment, and assists Facilities Maintenance Technicians
• Performs cleaning duties in accordance with Cleaning Plan and standards across facilities
• Moves and arranges furniture and equipment, loads/unloads supplies
• Performs touch up and minor painting, removes graffiti
• Performs non-technical inspections on district buildings and sites
• Organizes and maintains supplies and proper care/storage of tools and equipment
