Job summary

RTX Corporation in Richardson, TX seeks a Facilities Building Operator to maintain the Central Utility Plant (CUP), HVAC, and related building systems onsite. This role requires lifting up to 28 pounds, reading blueprints, and ensuring energy-efficient operation.

You will work first shift Monday–Thursday 6:00 AM–3:30 PM, Friday 6:00 AM–10:00 AM; U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD TS/SCI security clearance are required, with active clearance after day 1 preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalency (GED).
• 4 years of experience in HVAC or completion of technical school/formal training.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain DoD TS/SCI security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform chiller plant and refrigeration duties with general operating instructions.
• Diagnose breakdowns or serious delays in operations and testing.
• Diagnose malfunctions in equipment and repair in an expeditious manner.
• Modify equipment controls to achieve energy-efficient operation.
• Operate computer-based building automation systems.
• Handle medium and heavy equipment or tools for repairs.
• Work in cramped spaces or on ladders and scaffolding.
• Must be able to lift up to 28 pounds.
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and precision measuring instruments.
