Job summary

Scheels is seeking a part-time Cleaning Associate to maintain cleanliness and safety across the store environment in Wichita, KS. The role involves routine cleaning tasks, waste disposal, and restocking supplies while ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for customers.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, or 1–3 months of experience, with the ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Vacuum, mop, sweep, clean, and empty waste baskets.
  • Clean windows and doors.
  • Restock cleaning supplies and restroom items.
  • Operate commercial cleaning equipment.
  • Answer and respond to phone calls for spills and general clean-up.
  • Pick up trash in parking lot and around the store exterior.
  • Sanitize restrooms and fixtures.
  • Report repairs to supervisor (leaks, broken fixtures, etc.).
  • Maintain attention to detail to meet Scheels’ appearance standards.

Schedule:

Must be flexible to work assigned schedule between 1 p.m. and 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., Sunday. Schedule may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays, must be available a minimum of two weekends a month. Average hours per week is 20 hours.

Responsibilities:
  • Vacuum, mop, sweep, clean, and empty waste baskets
  • Clean windows and doors
  • Restock cleaning supplies and restroom items
  • Operate commercial cleaning equipment
  • Answer and respond to phone calls, such as spills, wet floors, and general clean-up
  • Pick up trash in the parking lot and around the outside of the store
  • Sanitation of the facility restrooms and their fixtures
  • Report any needed repairs to the supervisor, including but not limited to leaky faucets, toilets, loose tiles, or broken fixtures
  • Maintain a high attention to detail, ensuring all areas of the property are clean and meet Scheels' expectations for appearance
Education & Experience:

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and or 1-3 months of experience

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Heavy work –

Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
