Job summary

Scheels is seeking a Cleaning Associate to maintain a spotless retail environment at our Wichita store. Responsibilities include vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, window cleaning, restocking supplies, and handling spills with prompt, attentive care.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and 1–3 months of cleaning experience. Heavy lifting is required, and safety procedures must be followed to protect associates and customers alike.

Responsibilities

• Vacuum, mop, sweep, clean, and empty waste baskets.
• Clean windows and doors; restock cleaning supplies and restroom items.
• Operate commercial cleaning equipment and respond to spills or general clean-up.
• Pick up trash in the parking lot and around the store exterior.
• Sanitation of restrooms and fixtures; report repairs to supervisor.

Responsibilities:

• Vacuum, mop, sweep, clean, and empty waste baskets
• Clean windows and doors
• Restock cleaning supplies and restroom items
• Operate commercial cleaning equipment
• Answer and respond to phone calls, such as spills, wet floors, and general clean-up
• Pick up trash in the parking lot and around the outside of the store
• Sanitation of the facility restrooms and their fixtures
• Report any needed repairs to the supervisor, including but not limited to leaky faucets, toilets, loose tiles, or broken fixtures
• Maintain a high attention to detail, ensuring all areas of the property are clean and meet Scheels' expectations for appearance

Education & Experience:

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and or 1-3 months of experience

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Heavy work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
