Job summary

Siemens is hiring a Facilities Assistant for the 2nd shift (3:00pm–11:30pm) at the Memphis distribution site in Southaven, MS. The role focuses on maintenance, equipment handling, and supply organization in a non-climate controlled warehouse.

Primary duties include battery changes for lifts, floor cleaning, rack maintenance, and light plumbing. A safety-minded, independent, team-oriented candidate with forklift certs is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift 40 pounds with or without accommodation.
• Certified on Order picker and counterbalance lifts.
• Able to work 2nd shift (3:00pm–11:30pm).
• Comfortable using common hand tools.
• Non-climatized warehouse environment.
• Capable of changing forklift batteries promptly.
• Positive attitude and good communication skills.
• Self-motivated, independent worker with sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary lift battery attendant on 2nd shift.
• Operate floor sweeper and scrubber daily.
• Replenish water bottles and cups; replace water dispensers as needed.
• Repair or replace damaged racks and pallets.
• Pallet recycling and organization of supply racks.
• Assist with minor maintenance tasks and office/parking lot cleanliness.
• Inspect ladders and eyewash stations monthly; report issues.

We're looking for dedicated people with the skills and vision to build a better tomorrow! By joining our distribution Facilities team, you will assist the maintaining operational readiness and implementing facility related improvements.

We are looking for a Facilities Assistant – 2nd Shift (3:00pm – 11:30pm). This position will be based at our Southaven, MS location (Memphis Distribution Center).

Role Description:

• Be the primary lift battery attendant on 1st shift to ensure all lift have batteries change safely and expediently.
• Operate a floor sweeper and scrubber daily.
• Replenish water bottles and cups daily. Also, replace the water dispensers as needed.
• Remove and replace damaged racks.
• Pallet recycling daily
• Put away supplies from suppliers, i.e., cardboard, labels, etc.
• Keep Supply racks organized and clean.
• Minor maintenance task
• Assembly furniture
• Evaluate machines issues, conveyors, and report to facilities coordinator timely.
• Minor plumbing and cleaning
• Maintain cleanliness front office parking lots as needed.
• Conduct monthly inspections on ladder
• Inspect Racks and eyewash for serviceability weekly.

Basic Qualifications:

• To be able to lift 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
• Certification on Order picker and counterbalance lifts
• Ability to work 2nd shift hours (3pm - 11:30pm)
• Ability to work with common hand tools.
• Must be able to work in a non-climatized warehouse environment.
• Must be able to change Forklift batteries in a timely matter.
• Must possess a positive attitude, work well with others inside and outside the department and have good oral communication skills.
• Must be self-motivated, independent worker who can take limited direction while making good decisions in the workplace.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

• Can solve basic math problems and know how to use a ruler.
• Preferred experience of working independently for 2 years.
