Job summary

ITI Group in Sheffield seeks a Facilities Assistant to join our team and help maintain our offices, workshop facilities, systems and grounds. This hands-on role requires initiative, a practical mindset and the ability to respond quickly to issues while keeping safety and presentation high.

Qualifications

  • Proactive can-do attitude with a hands-on approach.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to other sites.
  • Basic IT and numeracy skills for record keeping.
  • Ability to read and understand written English to maintain records.
  • Willingness to learn and develop facilities skills.
  • Experience in facilities, maintenance, or similar roles is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections, maintenance and testing of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting and fire safety.
  • Perform general repairs such as painting, carpentry, plumbing and electrical tasks.
  • Diagnose and resolve building issues including HVAC, leaks and faults.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, minimising downtime.
  • Maintain housekeeping across facilities and grounds for safety and presentation.
  • Set up and rearrange office spaces, furniture and equipment as needed.
  • Conduct safety inspections and implement corrective actions to mitigate hazards.
  • Manage onboarding and supervision of contractors with RAMs as required.
  • Follow preventive maintenance schedules to keep systems efficient.
  • Document maintenance activities and maintain accurate records.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are in good condition and stored properly.
  • Assist with facility projects, renovations and installations.
  • Report recurring issues and suggest improvements to operations.
  • Occasionally travel to other ITI Group sites to support facilities.
  • Comply with health and safety regulations and complete training.

Reporting to the Facilities and Logistics Manager, you’ll play a key role in maintaining our offices, workshop facilities, systems, and grounds, ensuring they remain safe, efficient, and well-presented for colleagues and visitors alike.


This is a varied, hands‑on role where no two days are the same. We’re looking for someone with a proactive, can‑do attitude who enjoys taking the initiative, solving problems, and getting stuck in. Whether you’re carrying out planned maintenance, responding to day‑to‑day issues, or identifying opportunities to improve our facilities, you’ll have the chance to make a real impact.

YOU WILL

SUMMARY OF ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Conduct regular inspections, maintenance and testing of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and fire safety equipment.

  • Perform general repairs such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical tasks.

  • Diagnose and resolve building issues, including HVAC malfunctions, plumbing leaks, and electrical faults.

  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, minimising downtime.

  • Ensure good housekeeping is maintained throughout all facilities, keeping them safe and in good repair, maintaining common areas, and exterior grounds.

  • Assist in setting up and rearranging office spaces, furniture, and equipment as needed.

  • Conduct safety inspections and perform corrective actions to mitigate potential hazards.

  • Be responsible for the onboarding and general supervision of contractors, ensuring RAMs are in place as required.

  • Perform preventive maintenance schedules to ensure equipment and systems are functioning efficiently.

  • Document maintenance activities and maintain accurate records.

  • Ensure all equipment and tools are in good working condition and are stored properly.

  • Assist with facility projects, renovations, and installations.

  • Report recurring issues and suggest improvements to enhance facility operations.

  • Occasionally travel to other ITI Group sites as required to support facilities and maintenance activities.

  • Follow all health and safety regulations and protocols.

  • Successfully complete all identified training both in-house, and external.

  • Assist with any other duties reasonably requested and in line with the requirements of the post, including logistics support as required.
