EMC Precision has provided complex parts in low- to mid-volume quantities expertly machined since 1925. Reporting to the VP, Plant Manager, the Facilities and Maintenance Manager is responsible to support the maintenance team in the repair or replacement defective parts and equipment as well as perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that our machines continue to run smoothly. In addition, this position ensures our building systems operate efficiently, our building and grounds are maintained and aids in the maintenance of our trucks, fork trucks and other manufacturing vehicles.

Core Responsibilities: Manage the company's Facilities and Maintenance Division, ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of all facility systems, production equipment, and support infrastructure. Strong candidates will possess a broad technical background, including but not limited to electrical troubleshooting, PLC diagnostics, machine repair, and vendor/contractor management. This position requires a leader who can provide technical guidance and support to the maintenance team, assist in complex troubleshooting efforts, and serve as a key resource for resolving equipment and facility-related issues. The Facilities and Maintenance Manager must be skilled in vendor and client relations, capable of managing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and committed to meeting established timelines and performance standards. Responsibilities include developing and executing maintenance strategies, ensuring timely and complete completion of work to EMC Precision standards, maintaining the efficient operation of building systems and production assets, identifying potential equipment and facility risks, and recommending effective repair and improvement plans. The ideal candidate will combine strong leadership and management skills with the technical expertise and willingness to actively support maintenance personnel during troubleshooting, repairs, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Primary Duties:
  • Lead and coordinate maintenance activities to support safety, production, and facility objectives.
  • Provide technical leadership and hands‑on support during complex equipment and facility troubleshooting.
  • Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Manage maintenance inventory, equipment documentation, and maintenance‑related purchasing activities.
  • Coordinate and oversee contractors, service providers, and equipment vendors.
  • Identify and recommend facility, equipment, and capital improvement projects.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and company standards.
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical degree, apprenticeship, vocational training, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated expertise in electrical systems, PLC troubleshooting, and machine repair.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead maintenance operations, manage contractors and projects, and drive equipment reliability improvements.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, manuals, and equipment documentation.
OJT Training / Competency Requirements:
  • Complete all required onboarding and position-specific training.
  • Demonstrate competency in maintenance operations, safety requirements, and company procedures.
  • Participate in vendor and equipment-specific training as required.
  • Maintain technical proficiency in facility, electrical, PLC, and equipment systems.
  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment in accordance with company policies and regulations.
Physical Demands of Job:
  • Must be able to frequently: perform physical activities that require considerable use of the arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials, not to exceed 50 pounds
