Facilities and Inventory Specialist (Staff Services Officer II)

Position Overview

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) oversees primary and secondary education of over five million students in Texas public schools. The Facility and Inventory Specialist supports logistical operations, including mail processing, property management, inventory, and building maintenance coordination. This role reports to the Facility and Move Manager and requires in-office presence from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, with occasional extended hours, including weekends and holidays.

Essential Functions

• Manage mail and financial support activities, including receipt, distribution, and chargeback preparation.
• Assist with facility and move management, including equipment relocations and asset disposal.
• Support supply, inventory, and asset management activities, including verification and reconciliation of supplies and assets.
• Coordinate with other agencies for maintenance and minor construction requests.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Valid class “C” Texas driver’s license.
• Experience in logistical operations support and move management preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 suite.
