Job summary

PRAIRIE STAR RANCH INC is seeking a Facilities and Grounds Supervisor to oversee the care and maintenance of our 291-acre camp and retreat property near Williamsburg, Kansas. This hands-on role leads facilities and grounds operations and ensures our buildings, grounds, vehicles, equipment, and ministry spaces are safe, functional, and ready to support camp, retreat, and outreach ministries.

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position working approximately 40 hours per week on-site.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Working knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, grounds management, tools, and equipment.
• Ability and willingness to perform hands-on maintenance and grounds work.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and respond appropriately to urgent needs.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining accountability and collaboration.
• Experience coordinating contractors, vendors, and maintenance projects preferred.
• Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, schedule, and support the maintenance technician and seasonal grounds technician(s), fostering teamwork, accountability, safety, stewardship, and service.
• Oversee preventative maintenance and perform maintenance and repair work as needed.
• Coordinate and prioritize maintenance, repairs, landscaping, seasonal work, and facility improvement projects.
• Coordinate contractors, vendors, facility access, and project schedules.
• Delegate work assignments and monitor project completion.
• Conduct routine inspections of facilities, grounds, vehicles, and equipment.
• Respond to facility emergencies and urgent maintenance needs.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and organizational policies.

Prairie Star Ranch is seeking a Facilities and Grounds Supervisor to oversee the care and maintenance of our 291-acre camp and retreat property near Williamsburg, Kansas. Reporting to the Executive Director, this hands-on position leads facilities and grounds operations and ensures our buildings, grounds, vehicles, equipment, and ministry spaces are safe, functional, and ready to support camp, retreat, and outreach ministries.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Five years of facilities, grounds, maintenance, construction, skilled trades, or related experience preferred.
• Two years of supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required.
• Ability to obtain certifications as required by organizational operations.
• Practicing Catholic in good standing preferred.
