Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Texas Teaching certificate

Primary Purpose:

Serve as the campus testing facilitator: assist the Principal and the Office of Research, Assessment & Accountability in providing support to campus personnel regarding state and district assessment and analyze assessment data as it relates to the school and to individual student achievement.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Organize, manage, and assist in the supervision and administration of all state and district testing.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of state laws, regulations, and policies that govern the state assessment program.
  • Plan and assist with the training of testing monitors at the campus level.
  • Coordinate and implement building-level testing procedures and protocols for national and state testing, and for local testing as applicable.
  • Conduct procedural training for all school test examiners and proctors.
  • Maintain security of testing materials.
  • Manage processing and distribution of all secured testing materials.
  • Assist administrators in reporting irregularities.
  • Serve as a resource to campuses regarding testing questions and concerns about testing procedures, including guidance on guidelines and regulations that govern state testing.
  • Maintain accurate enrollment records for ordering testing materials for each test administered.
  • Ensure accurate coding and adherence to required procedures for state testing.
  • Review and track results for each student related to STAAR EOC/TAKS testing, as applicable.
  • Coordinate with campus leadership to facilitate data analysis and dialogue.
  • Review and track quarterly attendance and academic progress of students being served in remediation, intervention and tutorial programs to determine progress and the need for adjustments.
  • Assist with analyzing assessment data as it relates to the school and to individual student achievement.
  • Conduct parent, teacher, and student information sessions concerning testing, remediation, and tutorial programs/classes.
  • Attend, as necessary and appropriate, training sessions and site meetings related to assignment.
  • Serve as a campus liaison, as appropriate to assigned responsibilities and identified functions, with central administration and with teachers, students, and parents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Primary purpose:

The primary purpose of this position is to work directly with classroom teachers on the delivery of high-quality instruction to improve student and staff learning. This leadership position serves as a collaborator and liaison between campus and district staff to implement district instructional initiatives, provide job-embedded professional development, and accomplish specific district and campus goals.

Major Responsibilities:

Instructional Specialist:

  • Meets with individual teachers and teams on an ongoing basis to collaboratively analyze, personalize, design, apply, and evaluate student learning.
  • Develops teachers’ capacity to meet the needs of diverse student populations.
  • Shares with campus staff research, best practices, resources, instructional technology tools, and/or emerging trends aligned with district curriculum and beliefs.
  • Builds teachers’ capacity to utilize a variety of data to make informed decisions about instructional practices and high-impact strategies.
  • Engages teachers in the coaching cycle to achieve personalized learning goals.
  • Supports teachers’ development by co‑teaching, modeling, and observing and providing feedback.

School and District Leader:

  • Models attitudes, behaviors, and actions that are aligned to the district and campus vision.
  • Attends and actively participates in scheduled district instructional coach meetings and/or trainings and shares the learning with campus.
  • Develops positive working relationships with district and campus staff, honoring confidentiality as appropriate.
  • Develops capacity of Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to function effectively to improve student learning.
  • Collaborates regularly with campus leadership.

Learning Facilitator:

  • Provides job-embedded professional learning for individual teachers and collaborative teams that positively impacts student achievement.
  • Serves as a mentor for teachers.

Catalyst for Continuous Learning and Growth:

  • Influences change for improvement by introducing new ideas, making observations, questioning current practices, and exploring alternatives.
  • Supports teachers in transferring and synthesizing alternatives or refinements to current practices.
  • Models continuous learning to keep current and to be a thought‑leader on the campus.

Equipment Used:

SMART Board, computer, printer, copier, overhead projector, DVD/VCR, other specialized equipment that is particularly unique to the assignment.

Working Conditions:

Position requires frequent lifting and carrying of boxes of supplies, materials, and other equipment. Work may require frequent travel within the district and across the state. Prolonged standing. Must be able to handle stressful situations.
