Job summary

Engineered Facades, a division of Shiel Sexton, is seeking an Architectural Drafter to support project managers and QA with drawings and material take-offs for construction projects in Noblesville, IN. The role focuses on preparing 2D shop drawings, cutting lists, and ensuring sizes meet plans and standards.

You will coordinate with design/engineering professionals and attend reviews, while pursuing ongoing education on materials and façade systems.

Qualifications

Graduated with a two or four-year degree in Drafting or Construction Management or related field.
Has relevant experience working in the construction industry.
Knowledge of drafting principals.
Software programs including Auto-CAD 2012 or higher, Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks or similar modeling software.
Manual and computer-assisted technical drawing.
Skilled in free hand and mechanical drawings.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and email tools.
Knowledge of rainscreen systems and related façade materials.

Responsibilities

Develop, submit and revise 2D shop drawings including key plan, elevations and details for jobs as well as product application.
Prepare material cutting list.
Obtain materials sizes and incorporate them into shop drawings to meet plans, specifications and manufacturers’ standards.
Attend engineering reviews of plans/specs.
Work with third party design/engineering professionals to develop complete project details.
Continue education to develop knowledge of materials and systems installed.
Attend company meetings as required.
Other duties as assigned.
