Job summary

Permasteelisa North America seeks a Building Envelope Engineer to drive technical solutions that improve project profitability and product performance, with emphasis on building physics and façade design.

The role involves verifying specifications with clients and architects, conducting 2D/3D thermal simulations, and ensuring compliance with energy codes while coordinating NFRC validations and AHJ approvals. You will also contribute to internal tools and support site testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in related engineering fields.
• 3-5+ years of experience in building physics, thermal modeling, or façade engineering.
• NFRC Certified Simulator is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Check adequacy of thermal, acoustic and performance-based requirements in specifications.
• Liaise with Client / Builder, Consultants and Architect to ensure adequacy of the specification and project compliance.
• Perform 2D and 3D thermal simulations for complex envelope details and assess thermal bridging, condensation risk, and thermal shock.
• Maintain knowledge of energy codes and standards (ASHRAE 90.1, IECC, local stretch codes) and ensure facade designs meet criteria.
• Coordinate with NFRC validation channels and AHJ for approvals; prepare submittal packages.
• Develop modeling templates, calculation tools, and scripts to improve workflow.
• Attend and supervise performance mock-ups and assist in site installation and design changes.
