FAC ENGINEERING/ASSISTANT MAINTENANCE MANAGER

Position Summary

Assist in supervising a staff of facilities maintenance technicians who perform maintenance services, implement preventive maintenance programs, and perform energy maintenance repairs for retail stores and company facilities, buildings, and grounds. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. Based in Salt Lake City, Utah, Smith's Food and Drug merged with The Kroger Company in 1998. Qualifications and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of proven management experience within a maintenance organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • EPA Type 2 Certification.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 25% independently.
Essential Job Functions
  • Perform maintenance duties with guidance from the maintenance manager.
  • Assist in managing budgets, service levels, and repair effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with EPA and OSHA regulations, especially regarding refrigerant use.
  • Identify training needs for technicians to meet standards.
  • Develop and execute maintenance and preventative programs.
  • Manage third-party maintenance services.
  • Implement energy-saving practices.
  • Support construction and project management activities.
  • Coach technicians on safety standards and practices.
  • Manage inventory and supervise staff performance.
