Job summary

Roundy’s Supermarkets, Inc. is hiring a part-time electrical technician to assist with repair work and maintenance across assigned stores in Wisconsin and Illinois. You will support service calls, troubleshoot issues, and help keep electrical systems running smoothly.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, plus electrical experience or vocational training. You’ll need to read schematics, communicate with store personnel, and be able to lift up to 70 pounds when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational electrical cert or 1 year experience a plus.
• Hands-on electrical repair and preventive maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and store communication tools.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends and overtime when needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with electrical repair and support to assigned service calls.
• Travel between stores to perform preventive maintenance tasks and audits.
• Troubleshoot electrical system issues and perform repairs as needed.
• Communicate with store personnel about equipment use and issues.
• Maintain inventory of parts and complete repair documentation promptly.

Minimum Position Qualifications & Education Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Vocational school certification or 1 year proven electrical experience
• Must hold and maintain a valid driver's license
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays and overtime when necessary

Desired Previous Job Experience/Education

• Experience reading engineering drawings, manuals and schematics
• Basic understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC)
• Drive independently on a daily basis to stores as assigned.
• Assist with and perform various minor preventive maintenance tasks and procedures, including audits.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical system issues.
• Develop skills to navigate and investigate electronic controls interfaces.
• Perform minor electrical component repair and replacement.
• Maintain an accurate and organized inventory of parts.
• Operate equipment, vehicles, powered industrial trucks and aerial lifts safely.
• Clean and maintain company service vehicles, if one is assigned.
• Orally communicate with store personnel regarding the proper use of equipment as it relates to repeat calls and overtime.
• Comply with all department and company policies and procedures.
• Audit registered store equipment identification lists.
• Utilize company email system to send and receive messages.
• Properly complete all repair, labor, parts purchasing and usage documentation in a timely fashion.
• Assist other skilled trade technicians in repairs as requested.
• Physical demands include, but are not limited to, high aptitude for standing and walking endurance, sitting while driving to various stores, lifting and carrying up to 70 pounds, pushing and pulling, climbing ladders of various types, bending, squatting, and kneeling, and working in different temperatures inside and outside the store.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
