Job summary

M. J. Electric, LLC, a Quanta Services company, is seeking a Fabricator/Welder with a passion for quality construction. This role covers fabrication and welding of tooling and machinery fixes for MJ Drilling crews.

You will read blueprints, perform shop math, and use precision measuring tools. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a one-year technical school diploma is preferred, with 1–2 years welding experience helpful. This is a full-time, on-site Wisconsin position.

Qualifications

  • Ability to see a full fabrication project through from start to finish.
  • Proficiency interpreting blueprints and shop math.
  • Proficiency using precision measuring tools.
  • Self-starter.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One-year technical school diploma strongly preferred.
  • 1-2 years fabrication/welding experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Checks fabrication and welding with drawings verifying proper dimensions and specifications.
  • Verifies that the proper material was used to construct product.
  • Inspects in-coming materials to ensure quality materials are used to customers standards and expectations.
  • Inspect welding machines and equipment to ensure accuracy.
  • Inspects completed product against specifications ensuring all aspects of quality and accuracy have been met.
  • Follows shop floor control procedures.
  • Follows all safety compliance procedures established by the company.
  • Always work safely using Personal Protection Equipment, such as safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, and other PPE as necessary to comply with safety standard policies.
  • Verifies that proper lock-out/tag-out procedures and precautions have been taken prior to the any service being performed on a machine or piece of equipment.

About this Role – Fabricator/Welder

We are looking for a talented Fabricator/Welder who has a passion for quality construction. This position is responsible for the fabrication and welding of various types of tooling as well as machinery fixes for our MJ Drilling crews.
