Job summary

M. J. Electric, LLC, a Quanta Services company, seeks a Fabricator/Welder in New York to support MJ Drilling crews with fabricating tooling and machinery.

Responsibilities: read blueprints, verify dimensions, select materials, inspect welds, and ensure quality and safety in every part.

Read blueprints and job drawings to verify fabrication specifications.
Proficient in shop math and measurement tools.
Ensure proper material usage and fit of components.

Responsibilities

Fabricate and weld tooling and machinery components for MJ Drilling crews.
Inspect welds and finished parts for quality and accuracy.
Follow safety, lock-out/tag-out, and shop procedures.

About this Role - Fabricator/Welder

We are looking for a talented Fabricator/Welder who has a passion for quality construction. This position is responsible for the fabrication and welding of various types of tooling as well as machinery fixes for our MJ Drilling crews.

What You'll Do

Checks fabrication and welding with drawings verifying proper dimensions and specifications
Verifies that the proper material was used to construct product
Inspects in-coming materials to ensure quality materials are used to customers standards and expectations
Inspect welding machines and equipment to ensure accuracy
Inspects completed product against specifications ensuring all aspects of quality and accuracy have been met
Follows shop floor control procedures
Follows all safety compliance procedures established by the company
Always work safely using Personal Protection Equipment, such as safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, and other PPE as necessary to comply with safety standards policies
Verifies that proper lock-out/tag-out procedures and precautions have been taken prior to the any service being performed on a machine or piece of equipment
