Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Group in Monroe, NC is seeking a CNC (Elu/Onsrud) Operator to machine aluminum extrusion materials for the door package assembly. You will read orders, select materials, and run pre-set CNC programs to meet precise specifications while ensuring quality and efficiency on a climate-controlled shop floor.

The role requires at least 3 years of CNC experience, accuracy with calipers/gauges, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 3 years CNC and tooling experience required.
• Ability to read and understand machining and assembly drawings.
• Intermediate to advanced computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite).

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safety-first mindset in all work activities.
• Read and interpret job order instructions for individual customer orders.
• Select correct materials and quantities for each order.
• Follow work instructions precisely to complete door packages.
• Understand daily production goals and work at a pace that meets or exceeds requirements.
• Inspect raw materials for defects or damage prior to machining.
• Fabricate parts to precise dimensions using machine tools.
• Select and run pre-set CNC programs per customer specifications.
• Perform de-burring of products.
• Determine offsets and adjust on-screen values to maintain tolerance.
• Change and measure tooling as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor and/or Production Manager.

This includes drilling hole, cutting lengths, widths, and notches etc. so that materials fit together seamlessly during the assembly process. Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Ability to use basic math, including fractions, for measuring and calculating dimensions.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong attention to detail with fine visual and manual skills.
• Proficient in using hand tools, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to operate punch presses.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment for extended periods.
• Ability to read and understand layouts, shop orders, and process control documents.

Education And Experience

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 3 years’ CNC and tooling experience required.
• Ability to read and understand machining & assembly drawings
• Intermediate to advanced computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite)

Physical Demands

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. This is a standing position for with some walking up to 10 hours per day on a concrete factory floor. Frequent use of hand and hand tools to assembly parts. Ability to lift 30 or more pounds both overhead and at waist level. The employee is required to walk, reach with arms and hands. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. Exposure to intermediate/loud noise is expected when working in the manufacturing environment. The work environment is climate controlled.
